Some of the highest marks for any serum go to The Ordinary’s Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%. It’s a non-greasy fluid with a light texture that sinks into the skin.
Vitamin B3 (niacinamide) has been shown to reduce the visible signs of aging skin, hyperpigmentation, and redness. The skin’s barrier function is improved, and the skin becomes more resistant to environmental stresses as a result.
This serum is ideal for oily or acne-prone skin because its zinc controls sebum production and tightens pores.
Many users have noted an improvement in their skin’s overall appearance and texture after using this serum on a consistent basis, so it must be doing something right. Some people have even reported lessening their wrinkles and the appearance of a more radiant, even skin tone.
WHAT IT CLAIMS :
- Hydrating lightweight serum that improves the look of skin radiance and luminosity.Hydrates skin by reinforcing the skin barrier in as little as seven days.
- Achieve smoother skin after eight weeks.
- A universal serum for blemish-prone skin that smooths brightens, and supports.
INGREDIENTS:
Aqua (Water), Niacinamide, Pentylene Glycol, Zinc PCA, Dimethyl Isosorbide, Tamarindus Indica Seed Gum, Xanthan gum, Isoceteth-20, Ethoxydiglycol, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin.
MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE SERUM :
My dry, irritable skin. Many niacinamide serums have been tried and discarded by me. The vast majority of them originated from that country. Yet there was no striking improvement from those. As a result, I figured, why not give it a try?
A lot of people I know have tried them, and they seem to be helpful.
I used it before bed each night after thorough washing and toning but before my moisturizer. That’s how the application process works, right? After application, my hypersensitive skin showed no adverse reactions. Yet, I saw no difference in my physical look within the first week. Acne has left some scars on my face that I was hoping to have removed. But now that it’s been over a month, I can confidently declare that I do notice a change. Yet, to be perfectly frank, not that much. Everyone talks about this serum being the Holy Grail, but I wouldn’t go that far. Yet, your skin might respond favourably because everyone has a unique kind and texture of the skin.
The claimed hydration benefits are realized. The skin isn’t left feeling dry or stripped.
Because of its lightweight consistency, I can wear this under my makeup—but only if I apply sunscreen first.
TEXTURE :
Light but not runny. I didn’t have to struggle to apply this all over my face.
PROS AND CONS :
Pros –
- Budget-friendly.
- Lightweight.
- Hydrates skin.
- Fades acne scar.
Cons –
- It might not work on very dry skin.
- It might react horribly on sensitive skin due to a higher percentage of Niacinamide.
WILL I RE-PURCHASE THIS AGAIN?
No. It’s just not for me, and I would rather go for the Cosrx one over this.
