My experience with Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Skin Barrier Moisturizing Cream

As someone who has battled dry, flaky skin for as long as I can remember, finding the right moisturizer has always been a challenge. Introducing the Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Cream, a Korean skincare product that has not only significantly improved the condition of my skin, but has also become a holy grail in my skincare routine.

What is a Ceramidin:

The top layers of our skin normally include ceramides, which are lipids (fats) that are naturally created by our bodies. Considering that they make up 50% of the skin’s composition, they play a significant role in determining how the skin feels, looks, and behaves. As we age, our bodies produce fewer ceramides, and the ones we do have become less effective due to UV damage. This diminishes the skin’s barrier, causing ‘aging skin’ symptoms such as sagging, rough, dry skin, wrinkles, redness, and dehydration.

Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Cream/ what it claims:

A fast-absorbing, cushiony moisturizing cream with 5 Ceramides and Panthenol that improves the skin barrier, moisturizes, and boosts elasticity.

This next-level cream for dry skin is supercharged with more actives to increase skin’s barrier strength, moisture, and bounce. Now with 2x the 5-Cera Complex to strengthen the skin barrier, plus vitamin-derived Panthenol for moisture and barrier reinforcement for water retention. This moisturizing face cream leaves dry skin feeling soft, nourished, and supple.

Ingredients:

Water\Aqua\Eau, Glycerin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Dipropylene Glycol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Methyl Trimethicone, Hydrogenated Poly(C6-14 Olefin), Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, 1,2-Hexanediol, Phenyl Trimethicone, Dicaprylyl Ether, Cetearyl Olivate, Panthenol, Glyceryl Stearate, Behenyl Alcohol, Sorbitan Olivate, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Extract, 2,3-Butanediol, Cetearyl Glucoside, Ceramide Np, Ceramide Ng, Ceramide Ns, Ceramide As, Ceramide Ap, Cholesterol, Pentaerythrityl Distearate, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Palmitic Acid, Stearic Acid, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Glyceryl Stearate Se, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/Vp Copolymer, Cellulose Gum, Dextrin, Glyceryl Polymethacrylate, Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Oil, Citronellol, Tocopherol, Yellow 5 (Ci 19140)

Packaging:

The package is simple, but it does what it needs to do. It comes in a 50ml squeeze tube with a twist cap that keeps the product clean and makes it easy to use. The yellow and white color scheme is the brand’s signature, and the simple design looks clean and not too fancy on my bathroom counter.

Texture:

The cream itself has a thick, buttery feel that could appear heavy at first. Let me tell you that. But once it’s on the skin, it spreads like a dream and absorbs swiftly without feeling greasy or sticky. A combination of five different ceramides found in the Ceramidin Cream work together to fortify the skin barrier and keep moisture in. It also includes a number of nutritious components like shea butter, beeswax, and glycerin, which offer strong hydration and comfort to dry skin.

How to use:

After cleansing and toning, apply an even layer to your face morning and night. Avoid eye area.

My experience:

Scent:

One aspect that might not be suitable for everyone is the scent. The Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Cream has a distinct herbal, slightly medicinal fragrance. Personally, I don’t mind it, and it dissipates rather quickly, but it’s something to consider if you’re sensitive to scents in your skincare products.

Result:

It takes some time to absorb but until then it feels a bit heavy and cakey. So I give it some time to melt into my skin before putting SPF. It doesn’t clog pores. Another plus point, I’d say. Does it’s job pretty well in this humid weather but I think it’s gonna cause a bit problem in winter for people with dry skin. With this price, you’d expect a bit more to be honest. 🤦‍♀️ After using for about a week, My dry patches were somewhat gone, and my skin felt supple and smooth to the touch. I should also mention that this moisturizer didn’t cause any breakouts or irritation, which is always a concern for me given my sensitive skin.

Pros and cons:

💗Works great in providing moisture and nourishment.

💔Might cause breakouts on super sensitive, oily skin. Even though this case is rare.

Price:

It’s a bit pricey if you ask me. $48 is bit too much for 50mL. But I believe it’s worth the investment, particularly for those with persistently dry or dehydrated skin.

Conclusion:

In short, the Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Cream has become an important part of my skin care practice. It keeps my skin hydrated for a long time, improves the barrier on my skin, and makes my skin look and feel healthy and radiant. Some people might be turned off by the price, but I am sure that the benefits and effects are worth the money. Try this gem if you have dry, dehydrated skin and haven’t found a cream that works for you yet. you won’t be disappointed!

Would I repurchase it again?

I might try looking for better alternatives in this price.
